NBA baller Dwyane Wade is on the cover of Uptown Magazine and talks about his divorce, his new superstar teammates, and more plus the first openly transsexual basketball player in the NCAA when you read on...
Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade is the October/November cover of Uptown Magazine. I'm not too sure about this "scarf" though.
In the issue, which hit stands today, Wade opens up about his recent divorce, rebuilding his family life in Chicago, and his new teammates Lebron James and Chris Bosh.
I can only image what he has to say about his divorce...
In other sports news, looks like some history is being made in the college sports world. GWU's Kye Allums became the first openly transsexual basketball player to play Division 1 NCAA basketball. Allums was born a female but decided to identify herself as a male. Although the transition wasn't easy in the beginning, friends, family, and coaches began to accept Allums.
However, Allums is forgoing hormone therapy to continue playing on the women's team. NCAA rules state, "Transgender young people have the same right to participate and benefit from the positive aspects of athletics as other students do."
Allums is a junior guard on the women's team at George Washington University. Your thoughts?
