Forbes Lists Highest Earning Female Celebs

Forbes Lists Highest Earning Female Celebs

No surprise here: The one and only Oprah Winfrey, who is currently in the midst of her final season of the influential Oprah Winfrey Show, nabs the top spot of Forbes list of Hollywood's highest-earning women!

In fact, Winfrey, 56, who brought in an estimated $315 million this year, outranks even Hollywood's most bankable men. But her incredible earnings weren't enough to make up the slack of the rest of the women. As Forbes noted, "the entertainment industry's highest-earning men collectively raked in an estimated $1.2 billion between June 1, 2009, and June 1, 2010, compared to the $835 million the women pulled down during the same period." So what made all the difference? More blockbuster male directors like James Cameron and George Lucas.

But, Winfrey wasn't the only female to earn some cash over the past year. Singer Beyonce Knowles came in (a seemingly distant compared to Oprah) second place with an estimated $87 million. Rounding out the top five were Britney Spears ($64 million), Lady Gaga ($62 million) and Madonna ($58 million).

Forbes estimated the ladies' (most of whom, you'll notice, are in the music biz) fortunes by talking to agents, managers, producers and lawyers about how much money they've brought in through things such as record deals, endorsements, advertising and movie ticket sales.

Joining those five groundbreaking women is Sandra Bullock at the no. 6 spot with $56 million. No. 7 and no. 8 went to Ellen DeGeneres and Miley Cyrus with a $55 million and $48 million intake, respectively. Taylor Swift and Judge Judy Sheindlin round out the list and tied at $45 million each.
