Bieber's mentor tells MTV News the teen sensation has 'so much more in store for the future.'

With so much accomplished in 2010, Justin Bieber has certainly set the bar high for 2011. But the teen singer is already gearing up for next year. Bieber will not only release his much-anticipated 3-D flick, "Never Say Never", but he has also teased that he'd like to release an album of all-new material sometime later next year.
His mentor, Usher, thinks that at this point, the sky's the limit.
"As far as music and entertainment, that's the beginning," Usher told MTV News at Sunday's AMAs, where Bieber performed and took home four awards.
"There's so much more in store for the future, or at least there's a ton of things we can do and will, and with the support of his fans who will continue to just grow and grow and grow."
At 16, Bieber has accomplished what few manage with many more years in the music business, but Usher said he wants to ensure that Bieber doesn't stop enjoying it all as his popularity continues to grow and his schedule gets busier.
Asked what he admires most about Justin, Usher said, "His excitement and innocence in it. And I don't mean that in a light way because I think that he's absolutely enjoying every moment of it, as any young man his age would, but in a different way because [of] the hard work that has gone in and led to the dream that has become a reality. And every time you have an opportunity do something incredible, I tell him to do his best and be conscious that what you're doing today should last forever and eternity."

A Hollywood cinema is searching for a print of MJ's 1988 film with plans to give it a 'one night only' screening.

Michael Jackson's "Moonwalker"
Photo: Warner Bros.
Michael Jackson's short-film anthology "Moonwalker" may finally get a debut theatrical screening in the United States more than 20 years after it was released.
Back in 1988, MJ first unveiled the ambitious project, which contained several long-form videos for songs off his then-just-released Bad album, including his famous 25-minute clip for "Smooth Criminal." The film had been scheduled to be released in U.S. theaters that Christmas, but for whatever reason, that plan was scrapped. The movie was released on VHS early in 1989, and — surprise, surprise — became a massive success. But now, more than two decades after its debut, one theater is planning to give "Moonwalker" a proper premiere here in the States.
According to TMZ, Hollywood's Arclight Cinemas is actively searching for a print of the film, with plans to show it on the big screen ... for one night only.
The idea came after Jackson fans flooded Arclight's Facebook page with requests to show "Moonwalker," and the theater is now on the hunt for a copy of the flick. Even if the search is successful, there's no word on when the premiere would occur. The theater had not responded to MTV News' e-mail seeking a comment by press time.
However, Jackson fans might not want to hold their breath. In a follow-up story, TMZ reported that the late singer's estate had blocked Arclight's attempts to secure a print of the film, with a spokesperson for the theater telling the website: "We contacted the film's directors and producers and were finally directed to MJ's estate attorney [who] let us know the estate has the [film's] rights but have no plans to make ... prints available for rent at this time."
"Moonwalker" features videos for Jackson tracks like "Speed Demon" (directed by Claymation innovator Will Vinton), "Leave Me Alone" (which was released as a promo and won Jackson a 1989 Grammy for Best Music Video, Short Form) and, as mentioned, the iconic "Criminal," which features Jackson battling a group of mobsters led by Joe Pesci.
The flick also served as the inspiration for the super-awesome Sega game "Moonwalker, which featured a digital MJ morphing into a laser-blasting robot with the aid of his chimpanzee pal, Bubbles.
Would you go see a theatrical screening of Jackson's "Moonwalker" film? Tell us in the comments.

Their relationship has been tumultuous at best, but now, Laura Govan and her ex-fiance Magic baller Gilbert Arenas look like they're done for good this time.
Laura, who claims Gilbert abandoned her and their kids in November, has filed a new report with her attorneys that details Gilbert's crazy spending habits, just how often he kicked her out of the house, miscarriages, her allowance, and more drama. Read on...
This ish just keeps getting messier. Last month, Laura Govan made claims that her baby daddy 3 times over--their fourth baby is due in June--Gilbert Arenas, packed up all his ish in his Great Falls, VA home as soon as he got traded from the Washington Wizards to the Orlando Magic, and got ghost without leaving her or the kids a dime, or a house to live in.
Now, Laura claims he's not only a deadbeat, but he had no problems spending his millions on things like shark tanks, pools, and other things to keep himself entertained. But he did give her an $8,000/month allowance. And supposedly only proposed to her because he felt bad for putting her out numerous times.
In 9 pages of "confidential" notes to her family law attorney, Laura detailed her and Gilbert's crazy relationship. How did these notes get out? Apparently they showed up in an unrelated case filed publicly by the L.A. Superior Court.
According to the Washington Post, Gilbert bought a $1 million dollar shark tank and pool, and told Laura he's not getting her a nanny because she had the kids, so she should care of them:
In confidential notes, Govan -- who is expecting her fourth child with Arenas -- describes fights where he repeatedly threw her out of the house, his profligate spending (including a shark tank/pool/grotto complex said to cost $1 million), lavish vacations and spending sprees at toy stores.
And yet they never had a nanny, Govan complains, according to the notes: "he would state 'you had them you watch them.' "
Their nine years together came to an end in November, shortly before Arenas was traded to the Orlando Magic and moved to Florida; Govan last month claimed through a rep that he had abandoned her and the kids, cutting off all communications and support.
But the notes -- which appear to be her version of their life together -- reveal lots of details about their relationship. Arenas, 29, and Govan, 31, first met in 2002, when she was coaching basketball at a Golden State Warriors camp. In addition to their three young children (the fourth is due in June), they went through other pregnancies that ended in miscarriages. Along the way, there were lots of break-ups and make-ups.
Some of the meeting notes confirm what Arenas himself shared on his popular, now-defunct blog: "I've done kicked her out of my house almost every weekend, yet she's still here and she still believes in me," he wrote in 2008 in a post describing his marriage proposal to her. The notes tell an almost identical story: "The reason he proposed to her is that he put her out of the house every other weekend since they met and she stays with him, so something must be working."
Damn homie.
And she also detailed his lavish expenses and her allowance. Apparently she still wasn't happy with what Gilbert would give her and the kids:
There's a lot about how Arenas spent his money, based on her understanding of the household finances: "he states he makes 1.5 million per month," read the notes. Arenas lavished plenty on their Great Falls home, dropping $100,000 on landscaping, $5,000 a month for housekeepers, $675 "per car" washing, and $1 million for his backyard pool and grotto. His sharks are expensive: $5,000 a month to feed them and $1,500 for a keeper to drive from Columbus to take care of them.
He was extravagant when it came to toys for the children -- ages 5, 4 and 2 -- buying a $60,000 train set and an $8,000 toy Mercedes-Benz electric car, and dropping between $30,000 and $40,000 during a shopping spree at FAO Schwartz. (Arenas also told this story on the blog, but didn't divulge the amount of money spent.)
The notes say Arenas gave Govan $8,000 a month for expenses; more than half went to pay the mortgage on a home she owns in California, and the rest went for groceries ($500-$600 a week from Peapod), doctors, classes and other expenses for the children.
Two weeks ago, a pregnant Laura reportedly moved herself and the kids back to Cali. Womp.

As the release of his first full-length feature film, "Never Say Never," draws closer, the Justin Bieber takeover is shifting into high gear with yet another high-profile magazine shoot. This time around, however, there's no grin or slight smirk as the teen sensation gives a fixed stare on the cover of Love magazine's "androgyny issue."
Shot by famed photographer Terry Richardson, the Biebster takes a note from Tyra Banks as he smiles with his big brown eyes on the head-shot cover with a subtitle that reads "The Beautiful One." According to Fashionologie.com, the 16-year-old singer was shot by the famed photographer during a 90-minute break between gigs in Philadelphia. The biannual fashion mag, which also features an alternate cover with Kate Moss kissing transsexual model Lea T, is expected to hit stands on February 7.
While the accompanying interview has yet to surface, a tweet from the magazine reveals that journalist Paul Flynn spoke to the star about his legion of female fans: " 'The girls have always been screaming for me.' @justinbieber, LOVE Magazine Issue 5, out 7th Feb 2011."
In addition to Love, Bieber also appears on the cover of the February issue of Vanity Fair. In the cover story, the pop superstar opens up about the trials of teenage fame. "It's hard to really balance myself. A regular kid, if he catches the flu, he just gets to go home," Bieber said. "But I can't do that ... Everything is important. But, you know, my sanity is important, too. Even if I'm angry, I'll just put a smile on my face and fake it. I don't often fake it — what's me is me ... I know I have to give up a lot of myself, or a lot of a private life."

Good news, married and soon-to-be-married folk! Wedded bliss can lead to better mental and physical health, a longer life, and more friends—but only if the union is a "loving and supportive" one. Researchers found that happily married people were more likely to eat healthier and have fuller social lives, likely because a supportive partnership encourages healthier habits and widens a person's social circle. However, according to the researcher who reviewed major studies on the subject in seven European countries, an unhappy marriage is worse for a person's mental health than not being in a relationship at all. In other words, there are worse things than being alone. [Daily Mail U.K.]
"I did it as a joke, for some friends at first. But a guy in the bar we were in spotted me and hired me for the next day. I was so bad, I did it to 'Leave Your Hat On', and I had to get my mother and sister to cheer me on."
—Javier Bardem confesses that before he was an Oscar-winning actor (he's also nominated again this year for "Biutiful"), husband to Penelope Cruz, and father to their newborn baby, he was a stripper. I would really, really appreciate some video evidence of his act being unearthed and posted to YouTube. This could do more to resurrect Tom Jones' career than "The Full Monty." [Bumpshack]

Stepping out for her new movie, Anne Hathaway partook in a special "Sneak Beak" screening of "Rio" in Los Angeles on Friday (January 28).
Dressed casually for the affair, the Oscar co-host took to the 20th Century Fox Studio Zanuck Theater locale while joining up with fellow co-stars including Jamie Foxx and George Lopez.
The animated film is set to hit theater on April 15, 2011, with Miss Hathaway portraying the voice of a character named Jewel.
A synopsis of the movie via IMDB tells: "When Blu, a domesticated macaw from small-town Minnesota, meets the fiercely independent Jewel, he takes off on an adventure to Rio de Janeiro with this bird of his dreams."
Aside from "Rio," Anne is also gearing up to take the stage alongside James Franco to co-host the 2011 Academy Awards next month.

Finally seeking the help that he seems to desperately need, Charlie Sheen has checked into a rehabilitation center.
Coming just a day after he was treated in hospital for a hernia, the "Two and a Half Men" actor was admitted to Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Hospital on Thursday (January 27) after complaining about abdominal pain, caused by a hiatal hernia.
He was discharged later on Thursday to continue his recovery at home, but on Friday (January 28), his publicist Stan Rosenfield confirmed the star is seeking professional treatment for unspecified issues.
Rosenfield told the Los Angeles Times, "He is most grateful to all who have expressed their concern. Sheen asks that his privacy be respected at this time and that no additional informational will be provided."
It is the actor's third stint in rehab - he previously sought help for drug problems in 1998, while he checked into a medical facility last year as a "preventive" measure following his Christmas Day altercation with wife Brooke Mueller in 2009.

Billy Brasfield takes to his Twitter account to heap praise on Gaga's upcoming clip.

We may not know what it looks like, but we know it's coming soon, and, from the sound of things, it's going to be quite the experience.
We're talking, of course, about Lady Gaga's hotly anticipated "Born This Way" video, which she apparently shot this past weekend, and, according to her makeup artist Billy Brasfield, it's the kind of thing that defies explanation. And adjectives. (Though that didn't stop him from heaping 'em on.) In fact, the "BTW" video is apparently so awe-inducing that it brought Brasfield to tears.
"Have you ever been a part of something that was so profound, so inspiring, so incredibly beautiful, that as it was happening, it brought tears to your eyes and you had been given a gift, and you were thankful?" he tweeted on Monday. "It happened to me [and] I am thankful. 1/22, 1/23, 1/24- 2011 LADY GAGA--#BORNTHISWAY."
Brasfield then followed that message up with another tweet Tuesday morning (January 25), in which he continued to pile praise on the "Born This Way" clip.
"After days of sensory overload, of amazing song, ridiculously beautiful imagery, fashion, beautiful People, great friends, and a life changing experience, I am awake again after 24 hours of sleep," he wrote. "Hello New York City and snow."
Of course, Brasfield isn't the only member of Gaga's team hyping the "Born This Way" video these days. On Monday, LG's fashion director (and Thierry Mugler creative director) Nicola Formichetti took to his Twitter account to praise the shoot, writing, "Ok kids, get ready for ['Born This Way']. We've just created the most amazing thing ever."

Club smash, featuring will.i.am, tops our list of the Top 25 Songs of the year.
By James Montgomery
MTV News' Top 25 Songs of 2010 has reached an end. We've already counted down the rest, and now it's time to get to the best: Usher's "OMG," the song that perfectly sums up the past 12 months of popular music — and makes you wanna move until you can't move no more.
If 2010 proved anything, it's that a DJ really can save your life ... or at least get you to #1 on the Hot 100. After years of staring at each other from across the room, hip-hop, pop and R&B all decided to finally get in bed with dance music, and the results weren't always pretty, but they were certainly successful. To date, only 17 songs have made it to the top spot of Billboard's singles chart in 2010, and nearly two-thirds of them — from Ke$ha's "Tik Tok" to Far East Movement's "Like a G6" — were, in some way, dance songs.
In that regard, no song better sums up 2010 pop music quite like Usher's "OMG," the dance song to end all dance songs. Sure, it may not have matched the swagger of Kanye West's "Power," the snarl of Rick Ross' "B.M.F. (Blowin' Money Fast)" or the inbox-clogging spread of Cee Lo's "F--- You," but it didn't have to. None of those songs went to #1, after all. "OMG" did. Twice.
Even among songs that managed to snag that top spot — Eminem and Rihanna's "Love the Way You Lie," Katy Perry's "California Gurls," B.o.B and Bruno Mars' "Nothin' on You" — "OMG" stood out from the pack, mostly because of its pedigree. It's not a stretch to say that any of those tracks could've (and probably would've) been #1 in any other year; "OMG" could only have done it in 2010, because it was crafted to do nothing else. No other song this year was as of the moment, as singular and shiny and downright undeniable. There's a reason it was named on more ballots than any other song on our countdown and justly takes the title of MTV News' #1 Song of 2010.
And while all that is important, it's largely beside the point. "OMG" is the kind of song that truly defies deep inspection, because it's not exactly headphone music. Rather, it was made for the clubs, designed to envelop you on the dance floor and not let go until the final "oh-ohh-oh-ooh-oh." And in that regard, it succeeds in spades. It is a masterful melding of R&B, and Euro dance, all icy synths and handclaps, starbursts and stutters and sing-along chants. It ebbs and flows, stops and starts, pumps and preens. Simply put, you cannot listen to it without moving in some way. (MTV's Dee Caligiuri, who voted on our countdown, probably put it best one night when she declared: "There are so many dances you can do to it!") And if that's not the definition of a success, well, then I don't know what is.
A large portion of the credit for "OMG" has to go to will.i.am, who not only produced the track (I know!), but was smart enough to see this whole dance thing coming when he teamed up with producer David Guetta last year. Those songs — "Boom Boom Pow" and "I Gotta Feeling" — were, of course, massive, but neither of them are as good as this. Given full control, Will goes off the deep end, cramming the song with every dance trick in the book — and probably some new ones he just invented on the spot. And Usher, whose career, truth be told, was sort of in need of a shot in the arm, is the beneficiary. He floats and gloats above the mix, suave and cocksure, knowing that he is exactly the right man at the right time. That time, of course, had to be 2010.
Because in a year when so many big-name acts embraced the DJ, he flat-out did it better than any of them. "OMG" represents the peak of the dance-pop era in which we live, a song as undeniable as it is of the moment. We can only speculate as to what next year will bring, but there's really no denying that, as 2010 comes to a close, Usher stands above all else, reinvigorated and ready for more. It's enough to make you say "Oh My God," really.
How does Usher's "OMG" rank among the year's best songs? Let us know in the comments!

Katie Holmes' acting career seems to have hit a rough patch. Just weeks after her eight-part miniseries The Kennedys was dropped from The History Channel, sources say the actress' latest film met terrible reviews at the Sundance Film Festival last weekend.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, The Son of No One left many industry insiders cold and many walked out of the crime drama before the closing credits. The film was so bad, a source said, that when one audience member tried to start a round of applause at the end, he couldn't get any takers to join in.
Though Holmes, 32, only had a small role in the film, which stars Al Pacino and Channing Tatum, one moviegoer said her scenes were particularly painful.
"When Katie showed up on screen, there was a collective groan," the source said. "She plays the wife of a Queens' cop (Tatum), and she was completely miscast. They have her cursing a lot. And when she swore, there were chuckles."
The source continued: "She was wrong for it. Al Pacino's acting in the movie was intentionally over the top, and he did it with a wink. Most of the cast seemed in on the joke -- except for Katie. She was acting like she was in a dramatic Sundance indie, when it's really just a typical cop movie."

Why are we opening the show with Michelle? She's got a black eye? What does she mean, "Only this could be happening to me"? Over breakfast she asks the other bachelorettes who kicked her ass while she was sleeping. Everyone's a suspect! She thinks the black eye means that she deserves a one-on-one date with Brad. Exactly what the logic behind that is, she does not explain.
Anyway, the first date card arrives, and it reads: "Chantal -- How deep is your love? Brad." She's not the Shawntel who's a funeral director, she's the Chantal with the huge rack. Brad shows up to say hello to everyone, and Michelle instantly tries to monopolize the conversation by sulking about her black eye. As usual, Brad really doesn't know how to react when a womanfolk opens up to him.

Producer says he was 'in NYC tryin' to make tracks' for B and Bells' songwriter/guitarist.

Over the years, Diplo has worked with everyone from Thom Yorke to Spank Rock (and, of course, M.I.A.) so perhaps it should come as no surprise that, for his next collaboration, he's chosen to work with none other than Beyoncé. Oh, and electro-slammers Sleigh Bells, too. It all makes sense, in some bizarre way.
This is according to Dip himself, who posted a message — and a remix of the Sleigh Bells track "Tell 'Em" — on his blog, in which he let it be known that he, his production partner Switch and Sleigh Bells' songwriter/guitarist Derek Miller just wrapped sessions for Beyoncé's follow-up to I Am ... Sasha Fierce. He wasn't quite sure what would come of the tracks they created.
"Me and Switch was in [the] studio in NYC tryin' to make tracks with Derek and Beyoncé last week after we played her team [Sleigh Bells'] album," Diplo wrote. "Dunno if we gonna manage to finish, but [it] was good times."
At the very least, you know Bey's husband, indie-rock fan Jay-Z, is pumped by the news. Diplo is just the latest in an ever-growing list of top-flight producers who have worked with Beyoncé in recent months. There's still no release date or tentative title for her upcoming album, but she's logged studio time with the likes of S1 (he of "Power" fame), Ne-Yo, Sean Garrett and Jim Jonsin.
A spokesperson for Beyoncé did not respond to MTV News' request for comment on the Diplo tracks by press time.

Outkast MC freshens up the pop star's Cannibal cut with rare feature.

It seems the only way to find spankin'-new Andre 3000 lyrics these days is on the odd remix, and the ATLien definitely picked a left-of-center choice for his latest feature.
On Friday (January 14), a remix of Ke$ha's Cannibal track "Sleazy" hit the Web, outfitted with some brand-new bars from the elusive Outkast MC. The southern spitter uses the revamp to muse about a young kid dealing with a deadbeat dad over the song's bouncy thump.
"We start out so cute in our baby pictures/ That mama shot for our daddy so that he wouldn't forget you/ He forgot anyway, but hey, one day he'll remember/ If not, he's human, I'm human, you human, we'll forgive him," he spits.
After sounding off about daddy issues, Stacks then rhymes about his playful relationship with the glitter-friendly poptress.
"I call her Keisha, she like it because it's hood to her/ She call me Andre 6000 because I'm good to her," he says.
The remix follows a slew of random guest appearances on records by everyone from DJ Unk to Rich Boy as fans await another full-length release from 'Dre. Back in 2008, the Love Below lyricist broke down his affinity for jumping on the occasional remix to MTV News, explaining that cooking up another quality solo record is no easy task.
"I've been doing remixes here and there, and let me tell you, thank God for remixes. I wanna tell everybody who's been checking out the remixes and things like the John Legend song ['Green Light']: In this day and age, those are the things that have kind of been keeping me alive. Because it takes me awhile to record albums," he said. "I have to kind of build up something to say."

¿Y a ti? ¿Qué te parece todo esto?
